Brueggemann’s writings have permanently altered my landscape. Or more accurately they have allowed me to see more clearly the topography of the existing landscape.

I had the honor of hearing Dr. Brueggemann in person in Boston in the spring of 2014. The man is a living prophet! His books are as inspirational as he is, and as thought-provoking. As a seminarian, preparing for the priesthood, I value Dr. Brueggemann as an important source!

Psalms has always been the book that frustrate me a lot. I can see there are treasures to be found in the psalms but I always got lost in the vastness of the book. Hopefully Brueggemann’s book can help me.

Mind and Soul. Then his persuasions, if understood well, carry implications that may convict you to get out of your comfort zones. You cannot, but “follow Me and deny yourself.”

Sounds like an interesting book. I’d really like to read it.

Patricia Miller · August 26, 2014 at 7:19 am

Walter Brueggemann’s father was the pastor of my church, Peace Evangelical and Reformed in Tilden, NE. Now it’s called Peace UCC. My father, now 91 years old, remembers when they left Tilden for a new church. They drove out to the farm to say goodbye. Little Walter was just a couple years old. Our church centennial was in 2001 I believe, and Walter and his wife stayed with my parents. He spoke and taught a Sunday School class that morning. It was my introduction to his work and knowledge, and I found it fascinating. There is always more to learn from Rev. Brueggemann.

andrew Jilani · August 26, 2014 at 7:31 am

I have not read this author and therefore look froward to winning this book

I have loved and appreciated WB’s other writing. My interpretation and understanding of scripture altered significantly as I started interacting with Prophetic Imagination to begin with. Appreciated hearing him speak in Cleveland a few years ago.
